Templar Tours of Ireland

Day 1  Gathering Day – guests arrive in Dublin – meeting with our guide at Clontarf Castle Hotel which was once a Templar base. Afternoon visit to Dublin Castle where the Knights Templar were held imprisoned in 1308 after their arrest.  Dinner & overnight Dublin, Clontarf Castle Hotel.

Day 2  Depart Dublin. Day trip to privately owned Charleville Castle with hosted lunch.  A tour of this ancient and it's ruined Templar Preceptory inside the castle. Overnight in Dublin, Clontarf Castle Hotel.

Day 3  Today we travel west to Co.Sligo, formerly home to artist Jack B.Yeats and poet, William B. Yeats.  You will lunch in the Temple House, a classical Georgian mansion and visit a ruined Templar Church on the grounds of Temple House. Dinner & overnight in Galway, Connemara Coast Hotel.

Day 4  Today, you will have some tour options – including a tour to Connemara or a boat trip on Lough Corrib or a visit to the ancient Templar Church of St. Nicolas in Galway City. Overnight in Galway, Connemara Coast Hotel.

Day 5  Depart Galway.  Travel south to Clare to visit the famous Cliffs of Moher.  We will also take in Ennis and King John’s Castle and the Templar Castle at Askeaton.  Dinner & overnight in Killarney, Randles Court Hotel.

Day 6  Today we will drive around the beautiful Ring of Kerry with its amazing coastal views and little villages along the way. You will also see a “Sheepdog demonstration”.  Overnight in Killarney, Randles Court Hotel.

Day 7  Depart Killarney.  Today we have an exclusive visit at Freemasons Hall, Cork city and visit Blarney Castle.  Dinner & overnight in Waterford, Faithlegg Hotel.

Day 8  Today we will venture to Co.Wexford, in the South East of Ireland, where we will visit various attractions including Hook Head Lighthouse (built by the Templars), the Templar Keep at Ballyhack and Templetown village graveyard with the 1000 year old Templar grave. Dinner & overnight Waterford, Faithlegg Hotel.

Day 9  Depart Waterford.  Today we will have a tour of Ferns Castle build by a leading Templar, Sir William Marshall.  Return to a city centre hotel in Dublin.  Afternoon visit and farewell banquet will be in the Freemason’s Hall. Overnight in Dublin, The Gresham Hotel.

Day 10 Departure flight home, transfers to the airport this morning.
